There are dumb questions we just won't make you feel as if they are.

Does it hurt?

No it feels like pugs licking your wounds.
It depends on your tolerance for pain, the location, and can vary on the piece and artist. It’s not totally unbearable but it’s no hay ride. We suggest getting a good night’s sleep the night before, having a hardy meal an hour before your appointment time, and bringing a Gatorade or some type of a juice for during the process to keep your blood sugar up.

How much does it cost?

It varies from the size to the design of the tattoo. You can contact us for more info, walk-in for a consultation, or call us.

Can I bring in a picture of a tattoo I want to be tattooed on me?

You are more than welcomed to bring in reference photos. Please take note that none of our artist are going to copy someone else's work. So please don’t expect to get the same tattoo. That photo of a tattoo could very well belong to one of our friends in the industry and that wouldn’t be very neighborly to copy off of their hard work or to steal someone’s person tattoo. Keep in mind that you probably wouldn’t want someone else walking around with your personal design (unless it’s flash and if you get flash you understand that can happen).

What is your shop minimum?

Our shop minimum is $80

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday - Thursday from 1- 8pm, Fri-Sat 1-9pm, and Sundays are appointment only.  Our hours will vary on the season. Please remember to give us a call to make sure we have available openings for the day (we don't bite, well we might but we can't do it through the phone.)

I don't know what to get tattooed on me; can you tell me what I should get?

You should get the Natty Boh logo on your forehead.
In all seriousness, if you don't know what you want tattooed on you then you may not be ready to make that commitment. But if you still want to get something after thinking it through and are not sure what you want our artist have their personal flash sheets in the shop. It might spark an idea looking at their personal artwork.

Can you do a cover up?

Yes, we are more than willing to do cover ups. Please keep in mind that each cover-up will vary and will more than likely be a bit bigger than the original tattoo that you are covering up.

Do you do white ink tattoos?

We can but we would sugguest and advise against them. Typically white ink is used to highlight a part of a tattoo and not used as the tattoo it's self. White ink can fade over time or turn in to a yellow.

I am 16 and I want a tattoo........

Take some advice from me:
Sometimes it’s better to wait till you are old enough. We were all young once and we understand where you are coming from but a couple years from now that Nicki Manji Barbie tattoo will not have the same meaning as it does now. If I would not have waited I would have a big Scarface tramp stamp. But we wil tattoo you under the artist discrestion. We will need you parent or legal guardian to come with you. With both your id or permit and theirs vaild id and your birth certificate. NO EXCEPTIONS

I have $50, what can I get with that?

You can get 50 cheeseburgers at Mickey D's. I kid, I kid.

Our strict shop minimum is $80.

Do you do tattoo parties?

Short answer: NO

Long answer: They are unsanitary and not safe for anyone involved. We will not tattoo off site unless we are a tattoo event or convention.

We do offer private events at the shop. For more info check the event page on the site navigation bar.

I am a bit uncomfortable because I am getting a private area of my body tattooed.....

That's cheeky. No pun intended. We have a staff of both male and female artist and trust they have seen it all. They have been in the industry long enough and are extremely professional. Don't worry, you’re in good hands. No pun intended. I am on a roll.

I saw a piece of artwork/sketch that an artist at Idle Hands Tattoo Emporium drew, can I take this design to an other artist and have them tattoo it on me?

Our artist put in a lot of man hours into their artwork. While we respect the fact it is your body we would appreciate that if you see something you do like that our artist drew, please don't take it else where. It could very well be tattooed on someones body already.

I want something done but it seems that no ones portfolio contains the style I am looking for, can you help me?

We try to update our portfolios monthly. If you do not see a style of tattooing that you where looking for please feel free to come and talk to our artist. Chances are they are able to tattoo your request and if the artist is not able to we gladly will refer you to one our industry friends who can.

What is the best way to get in contact with an artist at Idle Hands to have a sketch drawn up?

The best way is to come up and talk to the desired artist and have them draw you your requested tattoo. Then once it is done they will contact you. After that all that is needed to set a appointment is a deposit to insure our artist don't get stood up like a ugly prom date.
